You're not a tree.
"If you don't like how things are, change it! You're not a tree." -Jim Rohn
It is much easier said than done to change your world and to create instant happiness if you are frustrated or lacking complete content with your life. Recently, and truly since the beginning of 2017, I have been feeling out of sorts. I have not been completely, undoubtedly and utterly happy - but then again, who really is? I try to take a step back and observe what it is that is causing my dissatisfaction. The best answer I have come up with is that it is a combination of things. It is up to me to go through those things and suss out what exactly is causing my unhappiness. I think this is something a lot of young adults struggle with. I know I have had many recent conversations with close friends about our present and about our future. We want perfection and we want it now. I think we have to remind ourselves that we have a lot of life ahead of us and to achieve that so-called perfection, it will take time. I really love Jim Rohn's quote above though becuase it reminds you that you have the power right now in this moment to make a change to something in your life to make it incrementally better. Hate where you work? Network with friends and family to find a new job. Hate where you live? Explore other options in your city to make a move. Nothing is so permanent in this world that it can't be changed. Chin up, buttercup.
